It has been an interesting winter for divers. We have been met with some of the most undesirable weather for diving for a few years. But winter has had its moments of shining awesomeness!
We have successfully run 2 trips to Deep Creek – 1 for diving and 1 for hiking. Yes Seductive our larger boat made the trip into the park on some interesting slippery roads. The rewards were worth it though with those brave enough to motor over to Kangaroo Island for some world class diving by day and camp fire at night.
Managed to slip in a dive to the Ex HMAS Hobart. The weather was on our side with favorable tides for some mid winter excitement. This was a fun trip with some of the clubs divers camping overnight at Wirrina Caravan Park while others made it a action packed day trip.
We ran a movie night the other week in the Flinders University’s new hub. We watched some diving moves in the multimedia lounge with a 80″ plasma system.
During the somewhat quieter than normal winter time the committee have also been busy servicing gear, buying new tanks and getting the boats ready for summer. So please come down to the club and see whats cooking. Remember if you want gear please head down on Thursday evening. In having said that if your busy on Thursday we can work something out. A reminder for new and existing members too – all our memberships are now done right here on our website 🙂
