Aldinga Reef (Drop Off)

The Drop-off is an amazing dive. The wall is vertical, from the sand at 20-22 metres, straight up to the top of the reef, in 4-5 metres...

There are big cracks in the wall, big enough to swim into. The fish life on the edge of the wall has to be seen to be believed. Big schools of Drummer, and Trevally. Blue Devils are almost common there, as well as all the usual suspects: leather jackets, old wives, cuttlefish, Magpie Perch, Harlequin Fish, the list goes on.

Glenelg, Pt Noarluga and Grange Tyre Reef

There were a number of tyre reefs put down off the metropolitan coast of Adelaide, to aid in fish breeding, and act as fishing sights. Most are in 20m of water and are quite easy dives.

These have also become a boom for divers, with lots of fish life to look at, and anchors are also quite commonly retrieved. :-)

The fish life on these reefs is spectacular. Lots many crabs and sea dragons and much more marine life Lots of different fish everywhere.
